Crave God more than food

As we see all the things happening in the world, it is clear that we are living in the end time. Jesus worn us to be awake and pray that we will be worthy to escape all these things in Luke 21:25-36

“25. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26. Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

29. And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

30. When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

31. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

32. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

33. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away.

34. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

35. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”

How do we become worthy to escape all these things? Jesus uses another parable in Matthew 25:1-13 about the wise and foolish virgins. What is important in this parable is that it is clear that we need to have enough oil to be ready when the Bridegroom comes. According to this parable the foolish virgins went to buy oil and on their return the door was locked.

We get our spiritual oil from reading the Bible, talking with God (prayer) regularly, not occasionally. It is an active relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Attending church and life groups doing Bible study is how we grow in knowledge and spiritually. We cannot rely on the little bit of knowledge that we received in Sunday school. Without a relationship with Jesus, we cannot enter the wedding festival.

It is more important to seek God now, while there is still time. We need to crave Jesus more than food. When you crave something to eat, rather read the Bible. That is Jesus’ heart desire for us and how import He should be for us. Acknowledge Him in everything you do and say. Make sure He is part of your whole life and not just certain parts where you feel comfortable having Him. He also need to be in the uncomfortable areas in order for Him to help you.

Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, ‘It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

In the days we are living church doors are locked, but we still have the privilege of online church. Make use of the facility and ensure that you grow spiritually. Read your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes for the truth in the Word. Go and live what you’ve learned in the Word, pleasing God and not man. Be obedient and faithful to God in you everyday living.

God loves you very much, that is why He created you. Unfortunately, for those who don’t have a close intimate relationship with Jesus, they will not enter His Kingdom. If this is you, please seek God earnestly while there is still time. Don’t wait, time is running out fast. If you have become lukewarm, turn back to Jesus urgently. We need to be warm and on fire for Jesus, no matter what persecution we are facing. Be strong and courageous!

Prayer: Heavenly Father we worship you and adore you. There is none like you. Our faithful Father who supply in all our needs, please forgive us all our sins and restore our relationship with You, through Jesus Christ who died for our sins. We repent and turn to You. Holy Spirit we pray that You will assist us in our walk with the Lord and give us the wisdom to understand the Word of God and implement it in our lives. Thank you for making us a new creation through the Blood of Jesus. In Jesus Name Amen, Amen.
