Character of Noah, Job and Daniel

God wants us to have the same character as Noah, Job and Daniel. When Jesus comes for His Bride, will He find righteousness,  faithfulness, humbleness and obedience?

Ezekiel 14:12-14

12. The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,

13. Son of man, when the land sinneth against Me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

14. Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

Through the lives of Noah, Job and Daniel we learn what character pleases God.

The character of Noah – Gen. 5-9

  • Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. (Gen. 6:9)
  • Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. (Gen. 6:22)

Noah was righteous and obedient to God and walked with God. We need to pursue righteousness. – In a world confused and wicked, Noah found grace and was saved from the flood, because God count him “righteous in his generations” Gen. 7:11

God is holy, pure perfect and wholly separate from sin. Sin separates us from God, necessitates judgment, and grieves God’s heart. Genesis teaches that we must love God and hate sin.

The character of Job

  • Job walked blamelessly before the Lord, fearing God and rejected evil. (Job 1:1)
  • Job did not sin with his lips (Job 2:10)
  • Job humbled himself before the Lord (Job 40:4-5)
  • Job had an intimate relation with God (Job 42:5)

Job’s faith was so strong that when deep suffering threatens the foundation of his faith, he did not give in, because he was firmly rooted in the truth of God’s word. Believe God is for you, even in the midst of intense trails. (Job 1:22)

Job trusted God to fill his voids and returned to victory. Hold fast to Jesus, your Redeemer. Be comforted knowing He is able to redeem your circumstance. (Job 19:25)

He was patient and had endurance.

Job did not only hear about God, he knew God and heard from God.

As in Job 31:1 be careful to look upon things that honour the Lord and are consistent with holiness. Commit yourself to keeping your eyes pure.

The character of Daniel

  • Daniel was totally separated for God. (Dan. 1:8-16)
  • He diligently seek to walk daily in God’s wisdom. (Dan. 2:14)
  • Turn immediately to God when faced with threatening circumstances. (Dan. 17-18)
  • Daniel was bold in giving glory to God when He enables him to overcome on otherwise impossible situation. Believe that our God works miracles. (Dan. 2:27-28)
  • Daniel didn’t make any compromises for his faith in God, even if it means a lion’s den and a fiery-furnace. He maintained his stand for righteousness. Believe that God is able to deliver you from even the most difficult circumstances. Be willing to endure the worst rather than dining your faith in the Lord. Commit your life into His loving hands. He will not disappoint you. (Dan. 3:12-18)

Live faithfully, and seek to have an excellent spirit. Try to reflect godliness in all your do. Continue to worship and walk in righteousness, regardless of prohibitions. (Dan. 6:3-16)

Serve God continually, and seek to be a living witness of His power and faithfulness. Daniel’s integrity affected the laws of the nations in which he lived. (Dan. 6:18-27)

Study God’s word so that you will be able to understand God’s will and purpose for the times in which you live. Be an effective doer of the Word, not just a hearer. Daniel did not just read about God’s Word, he dedicated his whole being to seeing God’s will come to pass. Align yourself and your actions wholeheartedly with God’s will. Dedicate yourself to times of prayer and fasting. Intercede before God, identifying with the sins of the church or a nation. Confess those sins before the Lord, asking for the Lord’s mercy, forgiveness and restoration for His glory.

Be humble, holy and glorify God and worship and honour God. (Dan. 5:22-28)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word and that we can learn from it what is pleasing to you. Holy Spirit please help us to be doers of the Word and walk humbly and righteous before God. Give us a love for the Word and to live your Word. In Jesus Name Amen.
