As we see the end is drawing closer, we need to ensure that we are ready for what is coming.
The Word of God is very clear that no one knows the day or hour that Jesus is coming to fetch His bride (the church). Unfortunately, not everybody that attends church will be part of the rapture. John 3:3 states very clearly where Jesus said that you need to be born again to enter the Kingdom of God.
John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him: ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Jesus also explain in His parable in Mathew 25:1-13 about the ten virgins that only the five who were ready, entered with the Bridegroom when He arrived. (Read the whole parable)
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with Him to the wedding and the door was shut.
Jesus teaches the necessity of preparedness for His return. He compares His return with a joyful wedding procession in which the unprepared cannot participate. At Jesus’ return, it is too late to receive Him as Lord and Saviour. We need to accept Him today. The “extra oil” that we need to be ready, cannot be shared. You need to get your own “oil”. How do you get it?
Attend church every Sunday. Now that lockdown has been lifted we can return to church. Don’t be lazy, it might just cause you to be left behind.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
You get ready by reading your Bible everyday and do what you learn in the Word. You accept Jesus Christ as you Saviour. Believe that He also died for you and that you are righteous through His blood. There is no works on this earth that can give you salvation or a right standing with God. Only faith in Jesus Christ and what He had done for you.
By reading spiritual literature by well know authors who are born again and learning from their teachings, you are also increasing your “oil”. Stop feeding your soul with the junk food you watch on TV and internet. Feed your soul with spiritual food, by watching Christian movies instead of the worldly stuff where the Name of our Lord is used to swear and curse. When doing things for other people, ensure that you do it with the correct motive. Not to gain anything out of it, but to help the person.
Most important is that Jesus is your first love, and that you are dedicating you life to Him in all you do. You cannot be lukewarm, and think that it is okay. It is not!
In Revelation 2:4-5 Jesus said: “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent.”
Be diligent in seeking God’s face, be humble and love God with your whole hart and the people around you as yourself.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your grace and mercy. Please forgive me my sins and for being lukewarm. I give You my heart and ask you to do a new thing in me and pour new wine in this vessel to You glory. Help me to be pure and ready when Jesus comes to fetch His bride. In Jesus Name I pray and thank You for what you are doing in my. Amen! Amen!
